Pet Collars & Harnesses Sizing Guide
🦮 Collars, Harnesses & Leashes Sizing Guide
A properly fitted collar sits snugly without restricting breathing or movement. For harnesses, chest girth is the primary fit driver — neck girth is secondary for most styles. Always measure before ordering.
📏 How to Measure Your Pet
- Neck Girth (Collars): Measure where the collar naturally rests and add 1–2" for comfort. You should be able to fit two fingers between the collar and your pet's neck.
- Chest Girth (Harnesses): Measure around the widest part of the chest, right behind the front legs. Add 1–2" for comfort and freedom of movement.
- For Step-In Harnesses: Also measure the distance between the front legs for the most accurate fit.
📊 Collar & Harness Sizing Chart
| Size | Neck Girth | Chest Girth | Common Breeds |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 6" – 9" | 10" – 14" | Chihuahua, Teacup breeds, Yorkshire Terrier |
| S | 9" – 12" | 14" – 18" | Pomeranian, Toy Poodle, Maltese, Shih Tzu |
| M | 12" – 16" | 18" – 23" | Pug, French Bulldog, Beagle, Cocker Spaniel |
| L | 16" – 20" | 23" – 28" | Boxer, Collie, Labrador, Golden Retriever |
| XL | 20" – 26" | 28" – 36" | German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Mastiff |
| 2XL | 26" – 32" | 36" – 44" | Great Dane, Saint Bernard, Newfoundland |
💡 Tip: Two fingers should fit comfortably under a properly fitted collar. For harnesses, if between sizes, size up — a harness that's too tight restricts movement and causes chafing.
